Day 6 - Finally Putting It All Together

Day: 6
Current Weight: 262.1
Starting Weight: 267.9
Weight Loss: -5.8 pounds

Finally put a decent day together and the results show it.

I managed to get my eating under control - coffee for breakfast, chicken and rice for lunch and soup & a sandwich for dinner. And most importantly, I didn't do any snacking after dinner.

And I was feeling well enough to get a mile bike ride in. So things are progressing nicely again - only .2 pounds off the goal and I'll feeling like my body is starting to cooperate.

It's going to be two more long days this week - hopefully I can get a small workout in between jobs in the afternoon.

Day 5 - Life Getting in the Way

Day: 5
Current Weight: 263.7
Starting Weight: 267.9
Weight Loss: -4.2 pounds

Being sick has totally sidetracked this project.

My taste buds are so overwealmed with phloem that the only thing I can taste is horrible greasy, super strong types of food. So that's what I've been eating.

But I did manage to maintain, so that is a plus.

And on top of this, I'm having electrical problems with my car so that my back lights don't work (Which causes my car to not be able to shift out of park without using a spoon to press the brake release) - so basically I am stuck at home once it gets dark.

Fighting to not drown my sorrows in about 1500 calories of McDonalds for lunch today.

I hope to have something better to report come tomorrow.

Day 4 - No Hairy Feet Day

Sadly, I forgot to get a picture this morning because I was running out of the house too quickly, so the numbers will have to do:

Day: 4
Current Weight: 263.7
Starting Weight: 267.9
Weight Loss: -4.2 pounds

Lost all the weight from my Trader Joes binging AND am back on schedule, so it's a good day. I skipped breakast and had some El Pollo Loco for lunch. Followed that up with a Louisiana sea food bake from this little place in Cerritos to go with the last couple episodes of Treme.

Still no working out, or really getting out of the house as I'm getting sick and feeling pretty crappy.

This week is going to be tough, as I'm working doubles (or triples) today through Thursday.

There will be very little time to work out even if I do get motivated, so it's all going to fall on my eating. Which usually means I'm screwed. We'll see.

Day 3 - Saturday Night! (Is Bad for Dieting)

Day: 3
Current Weight: 263.9
Starting Weight: 265.4
Weight Loss: -1.5 pounds

I would like to blame Trader Joes (and their cheap, delicious wine, HBO, Verizon (for their HBO free preview weekend) and the makers of Treme for todays weight loss.

Last night turned into a veg in front of the TV kinda night. We blew through 6 episodes of Treme on HBOs free preview weekend while consuming beer, wine, pizza, a cannoli & Easter gummy bears.

This has always been my problem - I drink, and then I eat. A lot. I fell into the same trap last night and gained two and a half pounds because of it. And on top of it, i feel like crap this morning.

3 days, 1.5 pounds. 3 Days in and behind my goal is not a good start. Tonight will (hopefully) be a Disneyland trip - so this weight loss purpose will collide with the original intent of the blog. We'll see how that goes.

And who knows, maybe some Disney pictures will make they way into here. I'm sure those would be a welcome sight after so many shots of my tan-lined, hairy feet.

Day 2 - No Effort Leading to Results

Day: 2
Current Weight: 263.9
Starting Weight: 267.9
Weight Loss: -4 pounds

Another day of weight loss through passive means. I really wanted to go to the gym or ride my bike, but an Angel game on TV inevitably leading to a nap killed that motivation. Thankfully, I had an exhausting day at work setting up for two events in the hot afternoon sun - so that was enough of a workout for me to lose almost a pound. I resisted the big temptation after dinner - McDonalds Filet-O-Fish, which is no doubt the best part of Lent. I managed to walk away with only a couple bites and some fries - much better than my usual McDonalds trip of 10 chicken nuggets, 2 double cheeseburgers and a medium fry. Two days down, 4 pounds lost. I know I won't keep up this pace with the lack of effort I'm putting in, but at least my metabolism seems to be working with me.

Tomorrow: Hopefully will have some kind of workout to report!

Day 1 - Success Through Failure

Yesterday was not what I would call the perfect first day of a diet. I had practically nothing for breakfast or lunch, followed by a small dinner. That's when things went wrong. I get to work and there are Reese's peanut butter eggs - hundreds of them - to be eaten. After about 12 eggs, the logical next step is something salty - so a couple bags of chips and a soda from the vending machine. Following work, at 1 am I gorged on some Lean Cuisine noodles, break, oil & vinegar topped off with a 350ml Thanksgiving Ale I had been aging since last year. I ate all that, didn't work out at all, and yet...

I lost 3.1 pounds! I didn't do anything to better myself, but through not eating horrible Chinese food I took a step in the right direction. It won't be this easy the whole time, but this is an encouraging start. Today - I actually managed to wake up early enough to make a healthy lunch, and brought things to go to the gym on my way home. Yea for progress!

Day: 1
Current Weight: 264.8
Starting Weight: 267.9
Weight Loss: -3.1 pounds

30 Pounds in 30 Days - Day 0

It's pretty crazy how quickly tax day gets here, you look in the mirror and think "Jesus - I'm chubby and summer is almost here." So as a way to get myself motivated and starting on the right direction I bring to you 30 Pounds in 30 Days.

The main reason behind this attempt for extremely quick weight loss is the MiceChat Gumball Rally, exactly one month from today (May 14th). I was horribly out of shape last year and it just about killed me. This year, the Rally is both parks, not just Disneyland so that level of fitness isn't going to fly. As I get into shape, the weight will naturally go away - so it's a good way to keep track of things.

So this is my 30 day weight loss journey. Hopefully I can entertain which I try to get myself in shape.
